Evelyn C. Oen, MSN, RN
With over three decades of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), Evelyn C. Oen, MSN, RN, has established herself as a respected leader in the healthcare community and a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Throughout her career, Evelyn has demonstrated a commitment to providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations, with a particular focus on marginalized individuals. From her role as an RN Staff Nurse and Preceptor at the King County Correctional Facility to her tenure at prestigious medical institutions like Morristown Memorial Hospital and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Evelyn has honed her patient assessment, intervention, and education skills. Her expertise extends to a wide range of clinical settings. As a Pacific Northwest CNA School co-founder, Evelyn is poised to leverage her wealth of knowledge and experience to shape the future of healthcare education in the Pacific Northwest region.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Evelyn C. Oen, MSN RN, is a devoted mother to four children, three sons and a daughter, ranging in age from 17 to 25. Beyond her nursing career and entrepreneurial pursuits, Evelyn finds joy in various hobbies and interests. Currently, she is enraptured by the art of hula dancing, delving into its intricacies through immersive lessons. Captivated by the rhythms and traditions of the Pacific Islands, Evelyn finds profound inspiration in each graceful movement. In her moments of leisure, Evelyn indulges in her love for exploration, whether through travel to new destinations, giving back to her community through volunteering, or delving into the depths of spiritual literature. With a diverse array of personal experiences and interests weaving seamlessly into her professional expertise, Evelyn embodies a holistic approach to life. Her unwavering dedication to excellence in healthcare is beautifully complemented by her pursuit of personal fulfillment, painting a vibrant portrait of a woman who embraces every facet of life with passion and grace.
Lora J. Vander Weil, BSN, RN
Lora Vander Weil, BSN, RN, stands as a stalwart beacon in the realm of healthcare, adorned with a rich tapestry of experience and a fervent dedication to nursing education. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the esteemed Washington State University, Lora’s journey through diverse nursing roles has given her a treasure trove of wisdom and expertise. As she steps into the educator role, Lora’s passion for nurturing budding talents shines brightly, illuminating the path for the next generation of nurses. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and dedication to compassionate patient care serve as a testament to her profound impact on shaping the future of healthcare. Lora’s presence in the halls of learning is not just a teacher but an inspiration, igniting the flames of passion and purpose in those fortunate enough to learn under her guidance.
Outside the classroom, Lora is a mother to her son, Austin, with whom she enjoys traveling to SE Asia. Lora’s heart finds solace in the rhythmic strokes of her kayak’s paddle, navigating the serene waters with a sense of liberation and joy. Beyond the tranquil waters, she ventures into the depths of nature’s bounty, discovering the art of repurposing wood. In each grain and knot, she finds endless possibilities, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary with her creative touch. Lora is planning her next adventure or admiring the graceful beauty of flamingos, her favorite animal.
